August 8th Ruined My Life

Hello PEMS Conscious People,

August 8th ruined my life in 2000, or so I thought….I was sitting passenger in my best friends car at a stop light in a Colorado summer sprinkle, and then I was hit from behind at 80 miles an hour. I hit my head, felt searing needles and heard my friend scream in pain…..then we were rushed to the hospital.

Sixteen years ago I would have told you that the car accident ruined my life, however with the intelligence of reflection I see that that car accident came into my life to change the direction I was going. Now, when I look back, I thank my lucky stars that the woman with a baby slammed into our car and changed my life.

I experienced long term severe disabling pain, injured joints, and I lost the ability to have children in that car accident.

Now, I know this looks gloomy for a post from me but bear with me for a just a bit…

Consider a moment when you thought your life was ruined…then years later you reflect on that moment and realise it was the very best thing that could have happened to you. Would you want to share your biggest aha with the world? 

After the car accident, I had no choice but to change my lifestyle, my health, and my vibration. If I did not I would be disabled for life, depressed, suicidal and just no fun to be around because I was viscous to all the people to tried to love me.  I was a big giant mess, and I had no idea about the woman I would become. If only I could re-connect my PEMS or physical, emotional, mental and spiritual parts of myself to change my perception and heal myself.

 Along the way, I met mentors who supported me and elevated my vibration and vitality. Some of my mentors were authors of books, many many blessed teachers, Doctors, practitioners and therapists from all types of disciplines. One of my most powerful mentors has been the Earth itself,  teaching me to learn from Nature using mindfulness and intention. By living mindfully or at least trying to I completely transformed my life.  If it were not for this diversified mentorship, I would not have been able to re-connect my PEMS and write my new book Cannabis Energy Medicine a 6 Week Map to Self Healing that showcases my keys to self-healing.

 I have used these same tools with my thousand clients and have seen them raise their vibration through self-healing techniques

Sneak Peak – Key 1- Intuitive Eating from My New Book Cannabis Energy Medicine

Chapter 6- Week One – Color Power

In week one of your six-week map to self-healing, you will be focusing on activating your color powers. Choose at least one key that you are drawn towards. During the week, I encourage you to embrace a more mindful approach to living in full color. This way you will start to notice what colors you are most attracted to and the colors that repel you. I encourage you to read about the colors that create an emotional or physical reaction. Read about its negative and positive qualities. Which ones have you been embracing? What is out of balance in your PEMS? Which color or colors will you work with first this week?

Key 1- Intuitive Eating – Eat by Color

  

The Intuitive Eating Approach

Instinctively we all know what we each individually need for, our intuition guides us. In this modern era, it is difficult to feel or own our intuition all the time for it has been suppressed. However, you should be happy to know that it is always present all that you need to do to retrain yourself so that you may hear that “inner knowing” from within. Have faith, trust, and respect for your intuition; for it too translates into unconditional love for yourself, your body and your decisions. Once you can rebuild your relationship with yourself; you will clearly be able to hear your intuitive voice. In the meantime, work with these aspects along with your intuitive eating exercises. You may find that as you honor what your body is truly asking for.

Intuitive eating is a process of respecting your body and making peace with food—so that you are no longer bogged down with constant “food worry” thoughts. It’s accepting that your health and your worth as a person do not change simply because you ate a so-called “bad” or “forbidden” food. This allows you to attain and, even more importantly, maintain a healthy weight and mentality that is natural for you.

Intuitive eating is based on a simple underlying premise: eat when you’re hungry and stop when you’re full. In other words, be able to say “yes” to food when “yes” is appropriate and to say “no” when “no” is appropriate. Intuitive eating is simple, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy for everyone. If you have a history of chronic dieting, rigid “healthy” rules about eating or don’t like your body, it takes time and hard work. Why? Some things need to be in place, including the ability to trust yourself.

 

Intuitive Eating by Color Attraction

Intuitive eating by color attraction is a simple way of listening to your PEMS to activate your color and nutritional power using food. In Evelyn Tribole Intuitive Eating book she describes a ten-step process that works well. However, it is emotionally messy. She asks that the reader takes a serious look at their food emotions and sensations in the body. For many people, if they do not have a clinician helping them through the process old patterns can emerge and can shake up the PEMS. I encourage a more simplified view of intuitive eating that rests in your empowered hands.

Eating by color attraction has some biological and psychological reasons for why we are attracted to certain foods or colors of foods. Biologically we crave the foods that contain the nutrients that our bodies need. Psychologically we are attracted to the colors that soothe our nervous system and support our current state of mind and health. Therefore, you will be attracted to the colors that will raise your vibration and nutrition via color attraction.

The below exercise encourages you to check in with your PEMS frequently and trust the guidance you are receiving when you activate your color power. Below is a description of the most common colors in the supermarket and their nutritional color powerhouse goodness.

Green vegetables & fruits contain lutein, an antioxidant that reinforces improved vision.  Green supports cells, the lungs, and kidney health. Green foods contain potassium, vitamin c, vitamin k and folic acid. Some examples are broccoli, green beans, bell peppers, lettuces, kale and other greens.

Orange/Yellow colored vegetables and fruits are rich in beta carotene and vitamin c. They help promote the excellent vision, healthy skin, healthy growth & development and supports a strong immune system. Some examples are oranges, butternut squash, winter squash, carrots.

Red colored vegetables and fruits are rich in phytochemicals like lycopene and anthocyanins. Which improve heart health, prostate health and diminish the risk of cancer through DNA health. Some examples are peppers, tomatoes, apples.

Purple/ Blue fruits and vegetables are rich in antioxidants and phytochemicals that are anti-aging and reduce the risk of cancer and support mental clarity.

White fruits and vegetables are rich in phytochemicals and potassium. They help reduce cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure and prevent diabetes. Some examples are,  mushrooms, onions, radishes.

 How to Intuitive Eating

The easiest way to start this is to go to a grocery store or farmers market where you can see all the vegetables and fruits laid out in front of you.

  1. Take a moment to do a body check and see what is going on with your PEMS.
    1. If you have pain or discomfort, note it on your mental inventory.
  2. When you are done with your body check look up at all the food in front of you.
  3. Ask your PEMS what one color will nourish you the most.
  4. Once you have a color in mind, head over to the section with that color that is shining most brightly at you.
  5. When you are in front of the color let your PEMS choose, take a close look at each of the fruits or vegetables in that area. Which one are you most attracted to?
  6. Choose one piece of fruit or a vegetable and pick it up in your hands.
  7. Ask your PEMS if this food will nourish it deeply and encourage self-healing
    1. If the answer is yes- place it in your basket and eat up
    2. If the answer is no- place the food back and start back at #1
  8. Once you have chosen the color or colors that are most nutritious for your PEMS take a look below and see what your body may be missing nutritionally.
  9. You can repeat the process or continue your shopping starting at #1 until you are doing this automatically.
